According to the Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili, many things were unacceptable in the contract signed with the company "Enka", about which he also talked to the investor.
According to Gharibashvili, the Georgian government has a sovereign right to talk to the investor about improving the conditions that were bothering the population.
However, the head of government clarifies that the government will continue dialogue and communication with the investor company.
"First of all, yes, you can confirm that I inherited this contract, as well as many other things. Naturally, a lot of things were unacceptable in this contract, I talked about it openly with the investor, this one. It is our absolute sovereign right to talk to the investor about improving the conditions that have plagued our people, including me as an ordinary citizen of our country, and that is perfectly normal. Second, as for the general process, we will continue the dialogue and communication with the investor company. "We have created absolutely all the conditions for them to continue working under normal conditions, despite the protests on the ground, but of course we will have communication, dialogue and we will find out in the next month," Irakli Gharibashvili said.
Irakli Gharibashvili states that he did not have any communication with Turkish President Erdogan on this topic.
"As for the question of whether I had communication with President Erdogan, we have not had any communication about it, and this is purely a relationship between the investor and the state. We take care of all investors, on the other hand, we will create maximum comfort for all investors naturally, taking into account the interests of our state and our citizens. I would also like to say that in the coming years our strategy will be to gain more energy independence, more investment in the energy sector and we do not expect any problems or obstacles in this direction, "- said Irakli Gharibashvili.
