"Plebiscite should be understood as one of the ways to reach early elections," Gigi Tsereteli, one of the leaders of European Georgia, told reporters.
According to him, some people like plebiscite, some do not, but despite the differences of opinion, the opposition is united on the main issue.
"The fact that there are certain opinions about the technologies and tactics of calling early elections does not change anything. The main task of the opposition is to hold early elections. This is a key way to defuse the political crisis. This was also said during a meeting with Charles Michel. We must understand that the main thing is to resolve these issues through dialogue. This is primarily in the interest of the country. A plebiscite must be understood as one of the ways to get to an early election. Someone likes a plebiscite, someone does not, this is normal and despite the differences of opinion, the opposition is united on the main issue. The main thing is to start these negotiations, that is why the whole world is involved in it," Tsereteli said.
The third President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili said yesterday that the country needs not a plebiscite, but early elections. "Under no circumstances can we agree on the plebiscite model that Ivanishvili is imposing on us," Saakashvili said.
