Salome Zourabichvili: Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration is irreversible and cannot be stopped by Russia’s provocations and borderization

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili met with the Speaker of the Latvian Saeima Ināra Mūrniece, during her official visit to Latvia. The sides talked about the occupied territories of Georgia and European and Euro-Atlantic processes. The President of Georgia noted that Georgia’s European and Euro-Atlantic integration is irreversible and cannot be stopped by Russia’s provocations and borderization. According to Ināra Mūrniece, Latvia is well aware of the conflict with Russia and it helps Georgia to better inform Europeans of the occupation. Ināra Mūrniece called Georgia the best friend and a leading Eastern Partnership country. She said the EU should have special approaches to Georgia. Other topics of the meeting were parliamentary relations between Latvia and Georgia, educational programmes of public officials, Georgian diaspora and experience sharing. The sides also talked about the spread of misinformation and noted that it is necessary to raise public awareness so that they could distinguish trusty and credible information from misinformation. source: IPN/interpressnews.ge
