Prime Minister’s Special Representative for Relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze will hold a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin in Prague today. As Zurab Abashidze told InterPressNews, economic relations between the two countries will be the main issues of discussion. Our agenda includes discussing issues such as trade-economic relations, transport links and certain humanitarian topics – we will talk within this agenda. We will review the bilateral trade turnover between our countries, what are the issues and the problems that are to be resolved in specific directions. We try to protect the interests of our companies, including air, automobile, freight transportation and etc. We do not plan to discuss any special distinguishing problem, Abashidze said. As for the recent situation in the occupied territories, Abashidze said he touches upon this issue at the beginning of every meeting with Karasin. Although this is not a topic of our agenda, I always touch upon this issue at the beginning of every meeting with Karasin – I talk about the recent situation in the occupied territories, near the occupation line, the violation of human rights, the militarization, the ignore of the international law and sovereignty of our territorial integrity principles in the region, Abashidze said. As for the issue, whether the high-level meetings of politicians are planned between Georgia and Russia in the nearest future, Abashidze replied that are not. The discussion of diplomatic relations is not in the agenda until our territorial integrity is violated. As for the high level meetings, there is no preparation or discussion on this issue in the working mode, Abashidze added. source: IPN/ interpressnews.ge
