I’d like you to remember Georgia with three numbers ‘ndash; 1, 28 and 8000 ‘ndash; Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze said when delivering his speech at California Commonwealth Club and explained the significance of these three numbers. The first number is 1. Currently, Georgia has a female president for the first time ‘ndash; Salome Zurabishvili. She is the first female president in Georgia and throughout the region and was elected for a six-year term in the 2018 presidential election. The elections are a historical event because of the progress of our country in terms of diversity and democracy. The second number is ‘ndash; 28. 28 years have passed since our liberation from the Soviet Union and embarked on the path of democratic development as an independent nation. I can proudly say that the United States stood alongside Georgia in each step of this path, – said the Prime Minister. The third number, which the Prime Minister mentioned in his speech, is 8,000, as he says that the history of wine production in Georgia counts so many years. source: 1TV/ 1tv.ge
