The United Airports of Georgia on Wednesday said the Hungarian budget airline Wizz Air was increasing its flight frequency from the country’s western Kutaisi International Airport to Germany to allow football fans to attend the national football team’s games at the upcoming Euro 2024 football championship.

The airports body said the number of flights could be further increased based on demand, with Director Irakli Karkashadze adding Wizz Air had added flights to Dortmund and Hamburg at a fixed price.

The official added additional flights had been scheduled from Kutaisi to German destinations for June 18, 22 and 26, with return services on June 19, 22 and 27.

We continue to work intensively with airline companies for the addition of direct flights to the German cities of Düsseldorf, Dortmund and Hamburg, so that Georgian citizens have the opportunity to attend matches of the [...] at affordable prices”, Karkashadze said.
