EU Foreign Affairs Minister's Summary Statement on Georgia: Member States agreed to consider the most appropriate EU response if the law come into force

The Council of the European Union publishes a summary statement after the meeting of the ministers of foreign affairs of the member states of the European Union held in Brussels, in which, among other issues, Georgia is also discussed.

 

The statement regarding Georgia states that the member states have agreed to consider the most appropriate response in the event of the implementation of the "Transparency of Foreign Influence" bill.

 

"As part of current issues, the Council was informed about the developments surrounding the new law on transparency of foreign influence in Georgia, which is against the spirit and principles of the European Union. The member states agreed to consider the most appropriate response of the European Union in the event of the implementation of the law, with a view to a possible decision of the Foreign Affairs Council in June." , - it is written in the statement.
