The total volume of violations identified as a result of audits conducted by the State Audit Service in 2023 amounted to 21.2 million GEL. According to the information of the agency, these are mostly cases of inefficient, uneconomical and non-targeted use of budgetary resources and do not include deficiencies identified by accounting and reporting directions.

 

According to the annual report of the State Audit Service, which was already submitted to the Parliament, the Audit Service conducted 51 audits in 2023 and covered more than 20 billion GEL in total. The indicator of monetary coverage of the country's consolidated budget was 89%.

 

15 financial, 26 compliance and 10 efficiency audits were conducted.

 

The category and amount of the violation are as follows: - procurement management - 10.8 million GEL; asset management - 1.6 million GEL; Management of budgetary resources - 8.9 million GEL; Total: - 21.2 million GEL.

 

The audit service analyzed the violations revealed within the framework of the financial audits conducted in 2023 and highlighted such systemic shortcomings, which, according to the agency, are important and relevant for a large number of budgetary organizations.

 

"The violations can be grouped into four systemic issues: - asset management; requirements and obligations; Accounting-reporting and general control mechanisms", states the annual report of the State Audit Service.
