France and Germany are very likely to fall into the Russian trap - Europe does a lot but not enough and we have to step up much more, MEP Viola von Cramon said at the "Glory to Ukraine" conference in Tbilisi.

"Europe does a lot but not enough and we have to step up much more. We have heard many times that Russia is ready for negotiations but normally it means the full capitulation of Ukraine only to the Russian terms or according to the Russian terms and there was no wish or desire to really negotiate. But the western states and I mean France and Germany are very likely to trap into it, to fall into the Russian trap, because they have a huge desire, I mean each and every week in German media we hear come on let’s make peace, let’s go back, let’s find a peaceful negotiation solution and whatsoever. If Peskov said that they want negotiation we have to support Ukraine even more with weapons, weapons, weapons, heavy weapons, tanks, whatever we can find.

Not just in terms of announcements, what we hear very often by the chancellor, but in terms of deeds. So, one hand hardware and the second one is strategic communication. We are very weak in strategic communication not just in Europe but all over the world. Regarding the grain issue, We often heard that that is the western sanctions that let the people suffer, which is not true, but there was not active, proactive communication from our side to explain poor, most vulnerable people what is the true and why it happened and we are losing countries, we are losing states who were more ambivalent at the beginning but maybe changed the side and have some kind of sympathy for this Russian narrative," von Cramon stated.

For information, in Tbilisi, the sixth international conference "Glory to Ukraine" was opened with the anthems of Ukraine and Georgia. The conference is hosted by the McCain Institute for International Leadership, the George W. Bush Institute, and the Center for Economic Policy Research, and features top-level leaders from Europe and the United States.
