We already know that 20% of Ukraine is occupied by Russia, this is today's status quo, I don't know what will happen tomorrow, I can't say, I don't think anyone knows it, - Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili said at the panel discussion of the Qatar Economic Forum, thus answering a question – “Do you agree or not with the opinion that there will be no winner in the Ukraine-Russia war?”.
According to the Prime Minister, Europe has not seen a challenge of this scale since the World War ll.
"It's really a difficult time. Europe has not seen a challenge of this scale since the World War ll, and therefore this war affects us all. But here I want to remind you that Georgia had a war in 2008 and we know exactly what war means. We already know that 20% of Ukraine is occupied by Russia, this is today's status quo, I don't know what will happen tomorrow, I can't say, I don't think anyone knows it," said Irakli Gharibashvili.
When asked if he is surprised that Ukraine "lasted so long?", Gharibashvili answered that in his estimation, everyone is surprised and he does not see any signs that this war will end soon.
"I think everyone is surprised. I see no sign of this war ending anytime soon. This is a problem, but we don't see enough efforts from the international community to implement the right measures for peace talks to take place," said the Prime Minister.
For information, Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili is participating in the annual high-level economic forum in Qatar. The forum is being held under the patronage of the Emir of Qatar and is being organized by Bloomberg. Within the framework of the visit, bilateral, high-level meetings were held.
The delegation of Georgia, headed by the Head of Government, includes Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ilia Darchiashvili and Head of the Administration of Government Revaz Javelidze.
