Armenians are urged to get ready within a month to gather to "fight for 'Artsakh'"? The Kremlin continues to bet on separatists

07.08.23 11:20

In recent days, the propaganda hysteria of the Armenian lobby regarding the "genocide of Karabakh Armenians" has gained momentum. And it seems that in order to prevent this infamous "genocide", the Armenian lobby, especially its pro-Russian part, is ready to once again trample on the principles of the inviolability of internationally recognized borders and drag Russia into a war on another front - this time in the South Caucasus.

The Armenian nationalist Sergey Lavrov-Kalantarov, who heads the Russian Foreign Ministry, has instructed his subordinates to once again engage in "justifying" Russia's interference in the internal affairs of other states by supporting separatism.

The Kremlin has already used two such separatist projects - Sukhumi and Tskhinvali - to occupy Georgian lands. And allegedly "save Ossetians from genocide" and use its "peacekeepers" stationed in the region.

At present, it is very likely that the Armenian lobby is planning to similarly use the separatist project of "Artsakh" to occupy the lands of Azerbaijan in the interests of Armenian nationalists.  Also under the pretext of "saving from genocide". And to this end, the Kremlin must prevent a real de-escalation in the region and the signing of a full-fledged peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

Provocative statements were recently made by Denis Gonchar, Director of the Fourth Department for CIS Countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry, which indicate that the Kremlin continues to bet on separatism in the South Caucasus.

Thus, despite the warming of relations between Georgia and Russia, Denis Gonchar immediately made it clear that the Russian Federation does not refuse to support the separatists of Sukhumi and Tskhinvali and does not even want to talk about the restoration of Georgia's territorial integrity: "The sovereignty of Abkhazia and "South Ossetia" is not subject to revision, it is recognized by a number of states, with others there are contacts through civil societies and business circles... Russia is aimed at building long-term allied relations with the brotherly peoples of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, with whom we have long historical ties. This position is not subject to conjuncture", ––– said Denis Gonchar in an interview with TASS.

Denis Gonchar also touched upon the peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia, making it clear that the Kremlin does not accept treaties signed without its mediation and will not withdraw from Azerbaijan-Karabakh, where Russian "peacekeepers" are beginning to act more and more clearly in the interests of the "Artsakh" separatists.

According to Denis Gonchar, the attempt to "hastily" conclude a peace treaty between Azerbaijan and Armenia at the expense of quality and proper preparation will lead to new conflicts in the future. Denis Gonchar called this treaty "crude".

"A hastily prepared, crude peace treaty will not bring lasting peace to the region. On the contrary, it will lay the groundwork for new conflicts and tragedies in the future. Priority should be given not to speed, but to the qualitative preparation of balanced and mutually acceptable solutions"., - Denis Gonchar said. He emphasized Russia's negative attitude to Western capitals' statements that Baku and Yerevan will be able to sign a peace treaty "almost in the coming weeks and months".

"The task of the responsible mediators is not to force the negotiation process in favor of opportunistic considerations, but to contribute to the achievement of solid long-term agreements. They should be based on the existing realities on the ground, first of all on the Russian-Armenian-Azerbaijani summit declarations and the mechanisms acting on their basis"., - concluded the director of the fourth department of the CIS countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

Need we remind that by "realities on the ground" the officials of the Russian Foreign Ministry understand Armenian "Artsakh" separatists hiding under the cover of Russian "peacekeepers" in Khankendi and its surroundings.

Immediately after these statements by the representative of the Kalantar Foreign Ministry, the Armenian revashist Z-channels began not only to encourage, but also to urge the Armenian nationalists to prepare for the fight for the separatist "Artsakh". There were cries of "Russia will help us" and accusations that Armenians do not want to "fight for their homeland".

"The West is in a great hurry. It realizes that Ukraine has lost, and it has to solve the problem of pushing Russia out of the Transcaucasian region before we finish with Ukraine.

Let's compare two statements by representatives of the Russian and NATO foreign ministries on the issue of the peace treaty. The Western version of the treaty includes Nagorno-Karabakh in Azerbaijan. The Russian version removes the issue of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh from the framework of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Armenia, in turn, agrees to give up the NKR.

So:

Russian Foreign Ministry: "A hastily prepared, crude peace treaty will not bring lasting peace to the region. On the contrary, it will lay the groundwork for new conflicts and tragedies in the future. Priority should be given not to speed, but to qualitative preparation of balanced and mutually acceptable solutions," - Denis Gonchar, Director of the Fourth Department for CIS Countries of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

NATO: "The key to meeting urgent humanitarian needs is ensuring freedom of movement. NATO calls on all parties to redouble their efforts to reach an Armenian-Azerbaijani agreement as soon as possible" - Javier Colomina, the new NATO Secretary General's Special Representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia.

The population of the unrecognized republic does not agree with this, but the forces of the NKR and the Western coalition of Great Britain-Turkey-Israel-Azerbaijan are unequal, to say the least. For Russia, the second front in Transcaucasia, taking into account the factor of Transnistria, which may catch fire, is a very heavy burden. Therefore, I once again call upon all Armenian men from all over the world. Stop watching from the sidelines while your people and your country are being given away with a hammer! Stop justifying your inaction with treacherous power or traitors among the people! Go and save your people, your land, the graves of your ancestors! There must be at least 100,000 of you. You have very little time left, a month at most. If the parties agree among themselves and sign the Western version of the treaty, know that Russia will not fight in your place. It is up to you to defend your country. Russia will help, but you have to fight yourselves. Yes, the soldiers of the NKR army, who are now standing at the positions, will not go anywhere, despite the unequal forces. They will fight. But they will all die, and their deaths will be on your conscience if you don't come to their rescue. And anyway, I don't understand why I have to explain elementary things to you. Do you want your homeland or not?! Why aren't you still there? You've had 3 years to prepare! Or do you want to voluntarily surrender your homeland to the Turkish Janissaries?"

It is clear that a new great war is being prepared in the South Caucasus through separatism. Old precedents of such separatist wars - in Abkhazia and Samachablo - the Kremlin does not think about eliminating, even is interested in transit through Georgia. It needs them to demonstrate "salvation from genocide" through separatism and occupation. And judging by the appeals to the Armenian separatists, the deadline for preparing for this war is about a month.

By organizing a PR campaign with the alleged "blockade and genocide of Artsakh Armenians" and "humanitarian convoys" that Azerbaijan does not allow to enter its territory (offering to supply Karabakh Armenians with humanitarian goods through Aghdam), the Armenian revanchists are accelerating their preparations for war.  After all, it will be difficult to maintain the circus of "Artsakh Armenians dying of blockade and starvation" for more than a month. A quick "culmination of the blockade", "acts of genocide", "victims" and "resolution" are needed.

In order to make the hostilities large-scale and to present them as a "war of the Armenians for their land", the Armenian lobby must gather as many fighters as possible under the leadership of the "Artsakh" separatists. However, the main force of the future war is supposed to be the Russian army. And now it is the main problem and "delay" with it.

The Russian army is completely bogged down in the war in Ukraine. All reserves have been thrown to the Ukrainian front.  In order not to fight "on two fronts", the Russian Foreign Ministry under the leadership of Lavrov-Kalantarov is now feverishly trying to "freeze" military operations in Ukraine - to conclude a ceasefire. This, unfortunately, will not bring peace and will not lead to the de-occupation of Ukrainian lands, but may contribute to the redeployment of the aggressor's forces to the South Caucasus for a new war.

Denis Gonchar has already made it clear that the Kremlin does not need peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, calling any peace treaties prepared without Russian participation (and without taking into account the demands of the separatists) "hastily prepared" and "crude". Paradoxically, the Kremlin is ready for any, the most "crude" ceasefire in Ukraine in order to derail this "crude" agreement. In order to get a few months of respite for a new aggression in the interests of Armenian nationalists.
