Anri Okhanashvili: A different lifestyle is not restricted, but the promotion of LGBT issues should be prohibited in our country

Our task is to provide our society with maximum information about what legal regulation we are dealing with, - the Chairman of the Legal Committee, Anri Okhanashvili, said regarding the constitutional amendments against LGBT propaganda.

The public discussion regarding the constitutional drafts law "On Family Values and Protection of Minors" began in Kutaisi, where Anri Okhanashvili spoke about the boycott of the opposition and noted that it speaks of their values.

According to him, a different lifestyle is not restricted, but the promotion of LGBT issues should be prohibited in our country.

"As you know, today we are starting general public discussions on the revision of the constitution. You know the issue is related to the issue of banning LGBT propaganda. Our task is to provide our society with maximum information about what legal regulation we are dealing with. We start with Western Georgia, we start with Kutaisi, and accordingly, we will visit all relevant cities throughout the week and provide maximum information to our society. It is a pity that a number of representatives of the opposition boycotted this discussion. It speaks about their values, that they don't have much to say to the public, but we work with our people to ensure that these issues are as open as possible, that LGBT propaganda is unacceptable. This, of course, does not mean rudely interfering with someone's right and limiting someone's right. A different lifestyle is not restricted, although we believe that the promotion of LGBT issues should be prohibited in our country," said Anri Okhanashvili.
