GD MP says foreigners should not call for Rose Revolution in Georgia

17.04.24 13:47

We have not fought so much for independence and European integration that some foreigners called for the Rose Revolution in our country,” said Maia Bitadze, MP of the ruling Georgian Dream (GD) party.

Bitadze remarked that some opposition politicians attempt to deceive youngsters while they do Russian work and hamper the European integration process.

“Georgia is Europe. Georgia is the motherland, and Russia is an occupant country. We have not fought so much for independence or European integration that some foreigners called for the Rose Revolution in our country. Some schemer politicians score points with work done by us and try to deceive the youngsters. Fortunately, you cannot dupe everyone,” she said.

MEP Petras Austrevicius said: “The demonstrators in Georgia show strong determination to oppose Russian style interference in attempts to adopt the so-called Foreign agents law. The Rose Revolution spirit can save Georgia’s European future!”
