One Person Detained on The Fact Of Unlawful Usage Of 'Adidas' Trademark

As a result of operative-searching and investigative activities, carried out by the representatives of Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, criminal prosecution was initiated against one person on the fact of unlawful usage of another person's trademark.

 

Investigation determined that the accused person had set up a factory in Imereti region, where he, produced and sold illegally marked sports shoes with the 'Adidas' trademark through hired persons.

 

As a result of investigative activities, a total of 100 pairs of illegally marked 'Adidas' sports shoes with a total value of GEL 6 000, intended for sale, were seized from the factory. A large quantity of 'Adidas' trademarks and a special branding stamp were also seized.

 

Investigation is underway under the first part of Article 196 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment up to 2 years.
