Speaker of the Parliament Shalva Papuashvili met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov. The press office of the Parliament disseminates the information about this.

 

The Minister of Foreign Affairs congratulated the Georgian side on the victory in the third match of the group stage at the European Championship and noted that Georgia has many supporters in Azerbaijan.

 

According to their reports, the parties emphasized the strong friendly ties between Georgia and Azerbaijan and confirmed the readiness for further development of the strategic partnership between the two countries.

 

"The parties discussed bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries. Also, attention was drawn to the growing importance of the Middle Corridor as a fast and reliable route for the transportation of energy resources. At the meeting, they talked about transport and energy projects. The Black Sea submarine cable project was highlighted.

 

The importance of regional peace was noted at the meeting. The conversation touched on the ongoing negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia regarding the peace agreement. According to Shalva Papuashvili, Georgia is always ready to promote regional stability and peace, including within the framework of parliamentary diplomacy.
