Energy is a particularly important direction, we have a strategic task that by 2030 the national production in this field exceeds consumption, and everything is being done to achieve this goal, - said the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, while presenting the annual report to the Parliament.
According to Irakli Kobakhidze, 284 contracts have been signed regarding the construction of new power plants.
"214 of them are hydropower plants, 26 are wind power plants, and 44 are solar power plants. We are sure that all relevant projects will be successfully implemented. The construction of new power transmission lines was also actively underway. We are actively working on the project of the Black Sea underwater power transmission cable, the feasibility study of which will be completed in about a month, in July," said Irakli Kobakhidze.
