The emotions are incredible, the boys really gave us a miracle, - the Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, told journalists after the victory over Portugal in Germany.

According to the Prime Minister, today's game once again proved that Georgians have football talent.

"I don't even know what to comment. We were with the boys, we congratulated them. There are incredible emotions. The boys really gave us a miracle. Everyone deserves more than thanks. It's a wonder. They fought until the end and apart from the fight, it was proven once again that Georgians have football talent. Thanks to them. It's the first European Championship, and when you qualify the group at the first European Championship, it's really amazing. Thanks guys, thanks everyone.

Portugal's defeat has a special price. Portugal fought until the end, despite the standings allowing them to relax. They fought until the end, and if we beat such a team, it is even more appreciated and we should win against Spain as well", said Irakli Kobakhidze.

In the third match of the group stage of the European Championship, Georgia won a historic victory, defeating the Portuguese team 2:0 and advancing to the round of 16. The first goal of the match was scored by Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the second minute after the start of the match, and the second goal, in the second half, was scored by Giorgi Mikoutadze with a penalty.

On June 30, Georgia will face Spain in the round of 16.

As it is known, the first match of the European Championship was played by the Georgian national team against Turkey on June 18 and lost 1:3, and in the second match held on June 22, the meeting with the Czech national team ended in a draw, 1:1, therefore, it won the first point at the European Championship.
